University
of Mary Washington
The University of Mary Washington was founded in 1908 as the
State Normal and Industrial School for Women. Renamed Mary Washington
College in 1938, the college became coeducational in 1970. Recently
the College changed names from Mary Washington College to The
University of Mary Washington.
